Boombotix BB1 iPhone Speaker Review

The BoomBotix Boombot 1 out performs other speakers of the same size. Even though it is small, the sound is not limited. When I brought it to a New Years Eve 2012 party that did not have music playing, the BB1 quickly became the source of all the party music.

It played all music very well and at loud volumes. Enough for us to start our own dance party right there in the hotel restaurant. There were about 15 of us and BB1 did a great job filling the space with plenty of sound for all of us to enjoy ourselves.

If you are listening to the BB1 for high quality stereo playback, you will find that it is not going to have the range of premium speakers like Bose. This does not bother me because the Boombotix BB1 is designed for portability and fun.

Features
The BoomBot is one of a kind in style and personality. while It mixes the genre of vinyl toys and speaker systems, it’s design offers a durable speaker housing and features essential speakers.

It has a vinyl construction that is very tough and light weight. It feels good to the touch and doesn’t show dirt or scratches.

The “eyes“ of the BB1 are interchangeable which allows you to personalize the look.

Setup and Design
Using the BB1 is very easy. It is small in design and only has 3 buttons: Power, Volume-up and Volume-down.

To start playing music use the retractable auxiliary cable to plug in the iPhone, iPad or iPod. After plugging in your device, it’s easy to start listening to tunes. Just hit the power button and make sure music is playing on the iPhone.

A blue LED light’s up to indicate that the power is on. As an added bonus, the light looks pretty cool.

Rechargeable Battery
The built in rechargeable battery is one of the longest lasting we have reviewed. When I brought it to the New Years Eve party, I lasted for 4 or 5 hours of playing music. This makes the speaker that much more convenient.

iPhone/iPod Jack
The retractable audio jack is something that seems a perfect fit for any small portable speakers system. While a dock could charge your iPod or iPhone, this jack can be used with many different audio devices and is a lot more versatile. You could even use it for a laptop or a desktop since it can plug into any 1/8” audio jack.

Conclusion
Having the BoomBotix BoomBot 1 at the New Years Eve party this year made everyone’s time a lot better. The girls all thought it was adorable and the dudes thought that the rechargeable battery and portability was a great design. Because I had the BB1 with me, we were able to listen to our favorite jams while ringing in the new year in unique style. It even provided music on shuttle rides between the hotel and airport. We made a few new friends on the shuttle after singing songs together.

I had a great time reviewing the BB1 because I had the perfect scenario for it. It does a great job for portable loud music playing, solid construction and incredible design. I think this iPhone speaker is an excellent purchase.
